Social Conscience
At CPG Estates, putting a roof over people’s heads and creating a community is at the heart of what we do—but our commitment goes beyond building homes. We believe in creating stronger communities by giving back to those in need, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity for a safe and secure future. Through charitable initiatives, partnerships, and direct support, we strive to make a meaningful impact, whether by assisting families facing housing insecurity, supporting local organisations, or contributing to programs that uplift communities. Social responsibility is woven into our mission, and we are dedicated to making a difference—because a home is more than just a place to live; it’s the foundation for a better life.
A Home Away From Home at Ronald McDonald House
In 2017, Peter Campbell led a team of architects, builders, and consultants to design and construct the $30m+ Ronald McDonald House (RMH) at Westmead, NSW, entirely free of charge. This facility offers families a “home away from home” while their children receive treatment at Westmead Hospital. The project marked the beginning of our ongoing partnership with RMH.
As part of this collaboration, Clarendon Homes NSW and Domaine Homes have sponsored one-bedroom apartments, providing temporary accommodation for hundreds of families. Beyond housing, our NSW employees actively contribute to the Meals from the Heart program, volunteering to prepare and serve home-cooked meals to parents and carers enduring long hospital days. Many of our staff return to volunteer multiple times, finding the experience personally rewarding.
We also participate in RMH’s major fundraising event at Rosehill Gardens during the Spring Racing Carnival and organize donation drives to collect essential items such as food, hygiene products, baby supplies, and small toys for the families staying at the house. Through these initiatives, we continue to support RMH in making a meaningful difference in the lives of families in need.
Proud Supporters of the Vinnies CEO Sleepout
At CPG, we believe everyone deserves a safe and secure place to call home. Unfortunately, tens of thousands of Australians face homelessness daily. To support those in need, CPG actively participates in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, an initiative by the St Vincent de Paul Society.
Held on one of the coldest nights of the year, the Vinnies CEO Sleepout challenges business leaders to sleep outdoors with just a sleeping bag and a sheet of cardboard, offering a glimpse into the harsh reality faced by many Australians experiencing homelessness. The event aims to raise awareness and funds for essential services, including accommodation, food, healthcare, counselling, education, employment, and housing programs.
Since 2022, CPG has raised over $275,000 for the cause, thanks to the generosity of our employees, trades, suppliers, and partners in NSW and QLD. With their support, we have helped provide homeless Australians with access to safe, permanent housing and vital services.
Going Wild for Zambi Wildlife Retreat
CPG is proud to partner with Zambi Wildlife Retreat, located in Wallacia, Western Sydney. Zambi provides forever homes for animals retired from the circus, entertainment industry, and zoo breeding programs. Peter, a passionate animal lover, was inspired by their mission and volunteered to design and build a custom enclosure for a troop of Hamadryas Baboons. The project was supported by many of our partners, suppliers, and subcontractors, who contributed financially, with labour, and in providing resources.
On December 17, 2021, the baboons moved into their new 357sqm home, designed to mimic their natural environment. The enclosure includes native landscaping, a 12m² raised resting platform for sunbathing, and a secure viewing platform for interactive feeding sessions. Every element was carefully planned to ensure the baboons felt comfortable and at home. While we’ve built thousands of homes for Australian families, this was our first one for a troop of baboons, and though they can’t leave a review, reports from their handlers have been very positive.
Some of our team members were directly involved in building the baboon enclosure, while others have had the chance to visit Zambi during our employee Rewards Days. These visits provide unique experiences, such as hand-feeding tigers and holding marmosets, further deepening our connection to the wonderful work Zambi does.
